Project Controller / Cost Engineer

The work

A space bid is only as credible as its cost model, and a contract only as healthy as its forecasts. This role builds both, working with engineering, business development and our Finance & Operations team.

A typical month mixes:

  • Bid costing. Cost models and price breakdowns built from supplier quotes and labour estimates, in the formats ESA and national programmes ask for.
  • Project control. Budgets, actuals and forecasts per project, with early warnings when they drift.
  • Cash flow. Milestone payments, supplier commitments and the overall picture across projects.
  • Rates and audits. Labour rates, allocation of effort to projects, and the records that public-funding audits expect.

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years in project control, cost engineering or financial analysis, ideally in engineering or publicly funded projects.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills; experience with Odoo or another ERP is a plus.
  • Fluent Greek and good English.
  • Care for the details, and the habit of explaining numbers so engineers can act on them.

How we work

LSF is a self-managing, open-source non-profit. We make decisions in the open, prefer durable docs over standing meetings, and review each other’s work on GitLab. This role is on site at our Athens HQ (Irous 21, 104 42 Athens), next to the teams whose projects it follows. We aim for a start between December 2026 and February 2027.
