The work
At LSF, product assurance is a discipline of its own, not something every engineer does on the side. This role owns it.
A typical month mixes:
- PA planning. Writing and running PA plans, and tailoring ECSS-Q standards to small-satellite missions without losing their intent.
- Configuration and documentation control. Configuration item and document lists, change control, and the non-conformance and deviation processes.
- Parts, materials and processes. Selection, approval and traceability, with our suppliers.
- Verification. Inspections, test witnessing and acceptance data packages.
- Bids and reviews. The PA sections of proposals and the PA side of every project review.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years in product or quality assurance for space projects.
- Working knowledge of ECSS-Q and of ESA contracts.
- Organised and firm, but collaborative: engineers should see PA as help, not paperwork.
- Fluent English. Greek is a plus.
- An experienced consultant who prefers to start part-time is also welcome to apply.
How we work
LSF is a self-managing, open-source non-profit. We make decisions in the open, prefer durable docs over standing meetings, and review each other’s work on GitLab. This role is on site at our Athens HQ (Irous 21, 104 42 Athens), next to the cleanroom and lab where our flight hardware is integrated and tested. We aim for a start between December 2026 and February 2027.
We weigh fit with the foundation and its mission at least as heavily as fit with the position. Read more in our hiring documentation.
